Max and Bella

Bella was happy and sleeping until 2 minutes before we took these but they are so sweet of Max I had to put them up. He loves her so much and really looks forward to the times he gets to hold her and talk to her. She looks for him when she hears him talk and smiles at him. It is a very sweet thing to watch!

Spring..Well, Actually it feels more like summer!

So we had snow and bitter temperatures at the beginning of the week and today it was in the 80s! You gotta love Virginia weather!! We took advantage of a gorgeous day and Max took Bella to one of his favorite places-Maymont Park in Richmond. We had a picnic lunch, fed the goats, climbed some rocks, and played some baseball! That is Lee, Max, and I did those things-Bella slept the whole time but she seemed to enjoy herself too! Great day!!

Snow!!

Winter had one final blast for us this week and we got serious, "Lee can feel at home" snow totals! Max had fun playing here and at NanaSue's and we finally got to use the snowman kit Aunt Bekah gave us a long time ago! It is beautiful and fun to play in but I have to say I am ready for spring. Good thing-because it is supposed to be in the mid-60s this weekend!

Bella-One Month

Bella is one month old this week! She weighs 9lbs 1oz and other than still being a little jaundice is doing great! She is alert more during the day and likes being under the playgym and in the swing. We have seen some sweet smiles especially for big brother Max!

Settling in!!

Max is all better and went back to school on Thursday-just in time for pajama day-which is somewhat ironic in that we have spent the last 2 weeks in our jammies!! Bella only needed one night with the phototherapy blanket and her jaundice is going away. She is a really good baby-just eats and sleeps. As the jaundice has gotten better, she has some short times when she is awake-what a cutie! Lee went back to work on Thursday and NanaSue came to help out despite the fact that she now has Max's bronchitus. Bekah and Eliza came on Friday for a fun visit. We had beautiful weather today and we took the whole family to watch Raleigh, Lucy, and Mary Rose Hazel's swim meet. Bella got to meet all the Hazels today-I am sorry I didn't have the camera with me! Max got some much needed outside time when we got home. We are settling in to life with our Bella and looking forward to going to church for the first time tomorrow and then I am going to attempt this whirlwind by myself on Monday( just for the morning-Nana(Lee's mom) is coming for the a few days!)

It has been a whirlwind this week! We came home from the hospital on Friday and are trying to settle into life with a newborn and an active, excited but sick 4 and half year old. Max got sick last week and as it turns out he has double ear infections and bronchitus. So we haven't really let him hold or touch Bella which is frustrating for him but it hasn't stopped him from being a great big brother and a big help! Bella is doing great although she is jaundice and is now on a phototherapy treatment "blanket". It is a panel she has under her onsie and she has to wear it all the time. We have to go back to the drs for blood tests each day. Of course one of the big highlights of our week was the Steeler Superbowl win!! We had our own little Super Bowl party and Lee couldn't be prouder of his little Steeler fans! So here are a few pics from this week!
